I'm beginning to think that this page on the blog should really be labeled, "Abbi & Sadie". But seriously, how cute is this picture?! Sadie and Abbi spent the weekend together while their humans were away. They enjoyed their time at Dogtopia, and loved being able to play all day long with each other. Each time I logged into the portal to check on my sweet Sadie, she was near Abbi's side. These two are definitely best friends!

While I am literally a month late posting these, I wanted to share some of Sadie's first birthday! Miss Sadie loves the water, it is rare I am able to shower alone! So, for her first birthday, I decided to get her a puppy pool for our deck!

She wasn't too happy when I put her "swimmies" on and started taking pictures, but once she was able to stick her paws in the water, nothing else mattered! Sadie spends most of her time sitting on the deck watching everyone on the street. Our location allows her to keep watch of the neighborhood kids and monitor that grumpy mailman!

Sadie has been enjoying her puppy pool and loved sharing her space with Miss Abbi! Abbi also enjoyed the refreshing water when she came to visit!

Abbi's mom and I joke when we are at the dog park, saying whichever dog comes to us when we are ready to leave will be the dog that goes home with us as well! We are still astonished by the incredible similarity these two have.

Sadie & Abbi

This past Saturday we met Sadie's identical twin sister, Abbi! Like any other Saturday, Sadie and I spent our afternoon running errands and finding new trails to walk. We typically end our day at the local dog park, where Sadie has met a few friends including an adorable Boston Terrier. The dog park has become Sadie's favorite spot! She can run without limits through the open area, and stop for water at any time!

Sometimes it is incredibly difficult being a single owner to a boxer puppy, as they are known for their abundance of energy. It also makes raising Sadie a bit more challenging living in a 720sqft apartment without any real room to run, or a fenced area outside.

This week we had the pleasure of meeting miss Abbi! Abbi's owner and I were amazed at how similar they look and act. Sadie and Abbi took off running through the park like they've known each other their whole (short) lives. Abbi was born in September of 2012, making her about six months older than Sadie, and ruling out the possibility of them actually being sisters!

Good Morning, Sadiekins.

Now, I know that most dogs think they are human, but miss Sadie really has no idea she is a pup. I wake up every morning to this snuggly wet nose kissing my left cheek. Most of the night, Sadie sleeps on top of the comforter, with a favorite toy or two. But somewhere in the middle of the night this sweet baby gets cold and paws to go under the blankets. I've gotten so used to this, I don't even wake up to lift them for her.

Mornings are especially routined. Around 5:00am, Sadiekins crawls from under the blanket to place her head, like a person, on the pillow next to mine. If this doesn't wake me up, my silly girl will ever-so-slightly nibble my ear until I speak of her favorite words, "okay, lets go for a walk".

Ellie

Today Miss Sadie and I walked around our complex to get some romping in before the rain comes! I've been training Sadie to walk off leash, and the complex is the perfect place to do it! Sadie has been learning new commands and this week the word is "home". I am teaching her how to get home and when to go home.

Naturally, Sadie ran ahead of me. I couldn't exactly see where she was so I went to the apartment hoping she was a good girl and listened to this command. Not only did she go home, she melted my heart. This snuggly puppy was done with her walk and ready for some Ellie time. Sweet dreams, Sadie.
